Eleanor Taber

Eleanor Green Taber, 96, of East Brainerd, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2013.Born July 6, 1916 in Muskegon, Mich., she was raised in Jarrettsville, Md. She married Arthur Taber in May 1944 and moved to Chattanooga in 1958. Later they moved to Schaumburg, Ill, then Waxhaw, N.C., only to return to Chattanooga in 1985.She was a member of Westview Baptist Church (now Shelter Church) and was a Kindergarten and Pre-K teacher.Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Taber; parents, Elmer and Edith Dawson Green; brother, Elbert Green; sister, Gladys Gailey; and granddaughter, Kathy Roach.Survivors are her daughter, Jeanette (Roosevelt, "JR") Roach, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Michael (Angie) Roach, Chattanooga, Glenn (Connie) Roach, Cleveland, Salina (Andy) Fowler, McDonald, Tenn., Randy (Christie) Roach, Jasper, Tenn., Matthew (Melissa) Roach, and Jennie (Tim) Ramsey, all of Chattanooga; several great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Sterling Jetton officiating.
