Ernie Crane

Ernie Crane, 61, of Chattanooga, departed from his temporary home here on earth Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013. He fought a hard battle and won the ultimate reward. Ernie was born on Sept. 9, 1952, in Chattanooga to adoring parents, Ernest Crane and Marie McBryar Crane. He graduated from Baylor High School and worked construction for his Dads company throughout high school and college. He graduated from UTC with a degree in mechanical engineering. Ernie was a longtime member of the Worldwide Church of God and was the Y.O.U. church youth director for many years. He stayed well grounded with his beliefs and was a devoted man of God. Ernie worked for TVA for 20 years and for the last 10 years he was a contractor for DC Cook Nuclear Plant. He was a devoted father and husband. Ernie was also an avid outdoorsman and big game hunter which was his passion besides family and God. Those left to cherish Ernies memory include his devoted wife, Julie; and loving daughter, Erica; two stepchildren, Allison and Joel; five grandchildren; several aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013. It will be held in the Crystal Room at the Chattanooga Choo Choo beginning at 2 p.m. All friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of this amazing man. Ernie Crane was truly a light and will be loved always.
