Efrem Caballero

Efrem Caballero died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. He was 91. He was born in Colombia, South America and had lived in the U.S. since 1956. He was a teacher by trade, having last taught Spanish at UNLV in 1989. He also practiced careers as an ordained minister in the SDA church, an insurance and real estate agent, and editor and translator. He wrote poetry receiving honorable mention in several national competitions. A widower for the last 20 years, he is survived by his three children, Efrem Caballero Jr., Ed Caballero and Nancy Balocca; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
