Gary David Sartin, 68, died at his home on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013. Mr. Sartin was born in Dalton, Ga.; he was the son of the late Andrew and Nellie Chadwick Sartin. Mr. Sartin was a veteran of The United States Navy; he served during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Loma Linda University with a degree in physical therapy. He worked for Blue Ridge Nursing Homes and was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Mr. Sartin was a member of Collegedale Community Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Survivors are his wife, Karolyn Hartwig Sartin; sons, Eric Timothy Sartin, and Arron Nathaniel (Sally) Sartin; daughter, Sonja Kay Sartin; brother, Alvin Sartin; sister, Wanda Souza; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway with Pastor Jerry Arnold officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 7 p.m. today.
