Mable Burkhalter

Mable Carmen Burkhalter, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. She was a 1943 graduate of Central High School and retired from the U.S. Government as a cartographer. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Ebenezer Maxwell Burkhalter and Nellie Wade Burkhalter; and siblings, Gerry Hartman, Louise Perkins, Erwin M. Burkhalter and Edward B. Burkhalter. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Sarah Feye Burkhalter and Tommie Ann Burkhalter; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Dee Hobbs officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
