Marvin Bradford

Marvin A. Bradford, 79, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. A native of Dade County, Georgia, Mr. Bradford had spent the latter part of his life in the Ringgold area following a long-time career in the Trucking Industry. He retired from Brown-Thurston Trucking where he served as a regional manager. Mr. Bradford proudly served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant and was the recipient of numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart. He was a member and choir director at Midway Baptist Church and also held memberships as a Mason and Shriner. He loved fishing, hunting and watching his grandchildren play sports. His parents, Floyd and Thelma Mae Bradford; and sisters, Vivian Hodnett and Tootsie Logan preceded him in death. Our loss is truly heavens gain. Right now, we know that he is singing in that heavenly choir! Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Connie Dixon Bradford; children, Marlene (Craig) Green, Michael J. Bradford, Monica (Terry) Andrews, Gary (Peggy) Freeman and Patti (Chris) Goodlet; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Janie (Luther) Joiner, Wesley "Sonny" (Sandra) Bradford and Melba (Jerry) Bryan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Scott Whaley and Rev. Jackie Swanson officiating.
