Mildred Rives

Mildred Benton Rives, 90, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and worked at several manufacturing companies. Mrs. Rives was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She loved to play bingo, crochet and sew and was a wonderful cook. Her family will never forget her biscuits and fried chicken. Mrs. Rives was a member of the American Legion and the O.E.S. Chapter 314. She was preceded in death by William Lee Atchley; and husband, James H. Rives; parents, Ira William and Zuma Martin Benton; sisters, Hilda Goodman and Lillie Mae Benton; brothers, Ira M. Benton, Lamar Benton; and son-in-law, Rudy Morgan. Survivors are son, Lawrence Allen (Nancy Ann) Atchley Sr.; daughter, Linda L. Morgan; grandchildren, Tammy M. (Joseph) Hardin, Rudy Allen (Beth) Morgan, Larry Allen (Dani) Atchley Jr., and Lisa Ann (Dan) Odom; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Deakins.
