Cecil Pearce Jr.

Cecil Douglas Pearce Jr., 78, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, in a local healthcare facility. He was born June 19, 1935 in Chattanooga to the late Helen and Cecil Douglas Pearce Sr. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Chattanooga Power Squadron, and the Chattanooga Rifle Club. He was a past Commodore with the Privateer Yacht Club. Cecil was a well-known photojournalist for the Chattanooga Times Newspaper for many years. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Kay Greene Pearce; son, Richard G. (Meg) Pearce Sr.; daughter, Susan P. (Jim) Holloway, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Richard G. (Christy) Pearce, Jr., Jennifer (Shane) Green, Michael Holloway and Katie Holloway; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Flynn officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
