Dot Woodfin

Dorothy "Dot" Woodfin, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. She was born to the late Ike and Pearl Lambert on Oct. 14, 1921, and was 92 years old. She was a longtime resident of the Sweetens Cove Community in South Pittsburg. A LPN at South Pittsburg Hospitals Clinic for many years, she was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club and enjoyed attending Wesley United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin; granddaughter, Tammy Knight; daughter-in-law, Carol Woodfin, as well as other family members. Those left behind to cherish her memory are son, Steve Woodfin; grandchildren, Larry Woodfin, Leslie (Stephen) Worthy, Stephanie (Ruben) Prince, and Flint Woodfin; great-grandchildren, Brianna (Stanton) Gilliam, Austin Woodfin, Anna Worthy, Maggie and Mason Prince, Luke and Hope Woodfin; and sister-in-law, Mary Lambert. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-7 p.m. CST today, Nov. 15, 2013, at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted at Christ Church Episcopal in South Pittsburg at noon CST on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, with the Rev. Kim Hobby officiating. Interment will follow at Beene-Raulston Cemetery, 7783 Sweetens Cove Road, South Pittsburg, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that food or monetary donations be sent to the Marion County Ministries Food Bank, P.O. Box 681, Sequatchie, TN 37374.
