Gary Lee Grimsley, 68, died Friday Nov. 15, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Grimsley retired from Van Heusen Company after 40 years of service and was a retired Teamster. He was a member of the American Legion, DAV and VFW. Survivors include his loving wife Donna Kernea Grimsley; sons Chris (Tara) Grimsley and Cameron Grimsley; daughter Corrie (Bobby) Humphries; very special mother-in-law Flora Lee Kernea; brothers, Randall Grimsley Rick and Connie Kernea; and three grandchildren Libby and Owen Humphries and Josslin Grimsley; special nephew Rick (Wendy) Kernea, Trey, Meghan and Caitlyn; special nieces Mindy and Alison Kernea; very special adopted family Kathy and Shannan Stanfield, Josh, Amanda, Jeremy and Skye Conry, long time special friend Dale Ingram. Funeral services will be 11 a.m Tuesday Nov. 19, in the funeral home chapel with Eulogy being delivered by Rick Kernea II and Dr. Larry Schlabach. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors being conducted, Jody Calvert officiating. Pallbearers will be Owen Humphries, Rick Kernea, Rick Kernea II, Trey Kernea, Dale Ingram, Rick Holsonback, James Willbanks, Tyler Harden, and Tony Mills.
