Carrie Farr

Carrie Elizabeth "Betty" Farr, 83, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 17, 1930 in Demopolis, Ala. She was the daughter of W.E. and Lula Ellen Gandy. Betty was a member of GA Power Ambassadors, Alabama Power Energizers. She worked at Dixie Kreme, Chattanooga Bakery and Krispy Kreme. She was also a member of Trenton First Baptist Chruch and of the O.E.S. Chapter, Trenton. She was preceded in death by sister, Mary Frances Mason, of Mobile, Ala., and Amanda P. "Steve" Stephens. She is survived by her husband, John "Johnny" W. Farr Jr. whom she married May 16, 1977. Also surviving are her son, Andy Stephens, of Red Bank; other family members are stepson, Tommy Farr, his wife and grandson, Jamison Farr, of Douglasville, Ga.; stepdaughter, Jil Farr and son, Tory Nix, of Brunswick, Ga.; and a great-grandson, godchild, Brooke Womack, of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; two sisters, Martha Lois Hill, of Belmont, Ala., and Bertha Ellen Snyder, of Birmingham, Ala.; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 20, 2013, with Rev. Eddie Cantrell and Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
