Wilma Bibbey
Wilma Margaret Bibbey, 97, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the comfort of her home with her family by her side. She passed away from complications with congestive heart failure. "Till death do us part". On January 19, 1935, Wilma married her high school sweetheart, Archie, and they were happily married until his death this past April. They spent over 80 years together and "It was a real love story," they were so dedicated to one another and they weren't going anywhere without the other. So it only seems fitting that less than seven months, both at the age 97, they are together again. Their anniversaries made local headlines as they got older. Marrying in the depression, they only had a dime to spend for breakfast after they had married. The menu consisted of bacon and eggs and pancakes but Wilma noticed the Fig Newton's. Since she had never had a Fig Newton, so that's what they ordered for breakfast. Little did they know a 78 year tradition was born. Every anniversary was celebrated with a hug and kiss and two Fig Newtons. Wilma loved going to church, reading her bible, reading books, gardening, canning, chopping wood until she was 90, antiques, birds, her dog, and lets not forget Georgia Football. Football was the only time our Wilma lost her religion. She was a long time member of Tunnel Hill Church of Christ and was a devout Christian role model, one of the most selfless people one could meet. If we could be half the person she was the world would be a better place. The family is honoring Wilma's wish of no service of any kind. But her family would like a special thank you to Hospice, Home Health, Amedysis Home Health, Greg Joyner, NP and staff at In Good Health, Eddie Test Medical and her second family, Tunnel Hill Church of Christ. Our Wilma was blessed with such a depth of friends and too many to list but you know who you are and how you touched her life and made it better. Wilma always said that God gave you the gift of life, the least we can do is make God happy that he did. Make no mistake that our Wilma didn't waste a moment of that gift. Remember her beautiful sweet, gentle spirit and her smile could light up a room. Tell her stories and she will live on forever. We love and miss you, but we will see you again. Your loving family.
