Lera Ward

Lera Jane Ward, 66, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Charles Bryan and Gladys Barrett Ward in Chickamauga and was a member of Ridgedale unity Church of God. Lera retired as a C.N.A. in 2008 and was a former employee of N.H.C. of Rossville for 18 years. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed daily. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, April Christine Ward; sister, Louise Roberts; and brother, Kenneth Ward. Lera is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Roger) Siffles, of Summerville; siblings, Linda (Jimmy) Mitchell, of Lookout Mountain, Marvin (Della) Ward, of Rossville, Gary (Dorothy) Ward, of Rossville, and Richard (Wanda) Ward, of LaFayette; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with Bro. Junior Evans officiating. The family will receive friends after Noon on Sunday until leaving for the cemetery. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe.
