Carolyn Tankersley C

arolyn Jean Tankersley, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at her residence. She was employed by Sams Wholesale and was a member of Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Watts; and daughter, Reneka Williams. Survivors include husband, Edward Tankersley; sons, Stanley (Kiva) McKenzie Sr., Vincent (Eulada) McKenzie, both of Chattanooga, Kevin (Gaye) McKenzie, of Dalton, Ga. ; Marcel (Tonya) Williams, of Charlotte, N.C., Marcus (Cindy) Tankersley, Harry Knox Jr., Andre (Toni) Williams and Terrence Knox, all of Chattanooga; daughters, Tonya Knox, Sonya Knox and Shantel Tankersley, all of Chattanooga; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin (Shirley) Thomas, Leonard (Kathy) Watts and William (Charlotte) Watts; sisters, Tommie Lee Paris, Connie Watts, Pamela (James) Williams and Joyce Miller; devoted friend, Louise Massingale; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends. Funeral service is at noon Wednesday at Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Caudle as the eulogist. Burial: at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.
