Homer Aldrich

Homer D. Aldrich, 87, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, surrounded by his family. He worked for Lever Brothers in Indiana and New York for 24 years, retired from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee in 1989 and was the owner of Aldmor Tours. Homer was a past Master of Amityville Lodge and a mentor with DeMolay in Amityville, N.Y. He was an Elder emeritus at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Aldrich. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris Aldrich; daughter, Suetta (Gary) Thomas; four grandchildren, Schoen Aldrich, Scott Aldrich, Jennifer (Nicholas) Lambert, Stephen Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Meredith Lambert, Madelyn Aldrich and Cohen Lambert; brother Ray (Shirley) Aldrich. The service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Rebelo officiating. Interment will follow on Saturday, Nov. 30, in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416, or to the Youth Group at First Christian Church, 650 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Nov. 26, and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
