Lavoy Blevins

Hardy Lavoy Blevins passed this life Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his home in Hixson. He was the son of the late Denver and Bonnie Blevins, pioneer residents of Dade County, Ga. He was a member of White Oak Church of Christ in Red Bank. He was veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Con-Agra, where he won an award for driving one million miles without an accident. He was on his second million when he retired. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arle and Randall Blevins; and a sister, Alice Mae Hartley. Survivors include his wife, Mary Eloise Roberson Blevins; four sisters, Edna Earle McBryar, Dimple Wheeler, Opal Privette and Ernestine Hatcher; several nephews and nieces, great-nephew and great-nieces; and a special angel, Nicki. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Minister Jim Dearman and Minister J.C. Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
