J.T. Barkley

Barkley, 92, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013. he was a loving husband who enjoyed traveling, was a U.S. WWII Veteran, and a recipient of numerous medals, including the Bronze Star; was retired from Combustion with 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elix and Viola Barkley; two brothers, Eunice and Houston Barkley; four sisters, Effie Hughes, Jewell Ledbetter, Edith Hatfield and Flossie Forester. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Joyce Barkley; several nephews and nieces; host of friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brothers Larry Walker and Guindal Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park with military honors.
