Harold Murray

Jr.Harold James "Jim" Murray Jr., 63, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jim retired from the Chattanooga Fire Department Station 9 as a Driver in 1985 after 12 years. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be greatly missed.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harold J. and Iness Marie Murray Sr.; daughter, Shannon Denise Murray; and sister, Patricia Faye Murray Whitt.He is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Janice Murray; children, Rebecca (Earl) Kepner, of Garland, Texas, Harold James Murray III, of Chattanooga, Angel Murray, of Chattanooga, and Johnny Murray, of Lookout Mountain; sister, Joyce Overby; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in the funeral home chapel.Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. today, all day on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
