Lloyd Jethro Lawing, 91 passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his residence in Summerfield, Fla.Born Sept. 14, 1922 in Marion, N.C. to parents, Elijah T. and Candace M. Lawing. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ethelene Peterson Lawing; children, Linda Kay Lawing and Danny Ray Lawing; and by siblings, Newland Lawing, Allie Lawing Conner, Nellie Lawing Morgan, Alma McDowell, Gladys Wilkerson and Bogard "Bo" Lawing.Lloyd is survived by his sister, Bernice Lawing Wilson, Marion, N.C.; and by his wife, Margaret Annette Smith Lawing; his granddaughters, Cindy Daugherty, of Chrisman, Ill., Pamela Price, Tuscola, Ill. Michele Tarter, Sydney, Ill., Amy Socol, Harrison, Melissa Long, Ooltewah, and Daina Kirkpatrick, Ooltewah; He has 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition there are numerous nieces and nephews, three stepchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.He successfully operated his custom cabinet building business (Lawing Cabinets) 40 years on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road in Ooltewah. During that time, he pioneered the Cultured Marble business and incorporated that business with his Cabinet Shop.Lloyd was one of the founders of the Professional and Business Mens Association of Collegedale at Collegedale, TN., and one of the original founders of the Ooltewah Seventh-day Adventist Church where he was Head Elder for six years.Funeral service will be held at Ooltewah Seventh-day Adventist Church, Amos Road, Ooltewah, at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4.Burial will be at Collegedale Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers: Kenny Daugherty, Dalton Price, Jason Milner, Michael Bruton, Kelly Bruton and Steve Tarter.
