June McGhee

Betty June McGhee, 76, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013.She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. June was born in Jewell Ridge, Va., but lived most of her life in Bristol, Tenn./Va. She was retired from Highlands Juvenile Detention Center in Bristol, Va., where she loved the kids she served at the center. She often spoke of how hard a life they had and how she joked with them to get them to laugh. She had a sweet spirit and brilliant smile and always helped those around her. June loved to fish and celebrated each catch with laughter and a big smile.Survivors include her sons, William Michael Peters, Robert Lynn Peters, Timothy Wayne Peters, Randall Lee "Butch" Peters; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, Va., with Rev.
