Mady Purdy

Mady Purdy, 86, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2013.Mady worked as a nurse and police officer in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the sheriff's office of Floyd County, Ga. before her retirement.Mady was preceded in death by her parents, Louis-Guillaume Menten and Valentine-Marie-Pauline Menten; daughter, Claudia Ashby.She is survived by her husband, James Purdy; daughter, Darlene Gordie; son, Steve Purdy; grandchildren, Greg Ashby, Bobbie Jean (Phil) Dake, Jay (Alanda) Gordie, Melissa-Ellie Purdy and Christopher Purdy; and great-grandchildren, Jaycee Mae and Landen Gordie and Ethan and Callie Dake.Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in the chapel with Chaplain Dewane Renfro officiating.Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 in Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center.Share your memories, stories and photos at www.legacyfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Soddy-Daisy
