Blake Thomas

STEVENSON James Blake Boyd Thomas, 30, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.A member of Stevenson Church of Christ, he had attended Mountain View Christian Academy in Bryant, Ala. He was a former employee of Covenant Transportation and Norris & Son in Chattanooga. Blake was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to play golf.He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Jessie Lee Prince; grandparents, Catherine Prince Boyd and James H. Boyd; stepfather, Robert P. Padgett Jr.; great-uncle, Sanders Bryant; great-aunt, Elizabeth Prince Ross; and aunt, Joan Boyd.He is survived by his mother, Kathy Boyd Padgett of Stevenson; father, Reece (Jenny) Thomas; siblings, Jennifer Thomas, Robert Thomas, Carl Thomas and Emma Thomas, all of Chattanooga; grandfather, Robert R. (Susan) Thomas, of Monteagle, Tenn.; several aunts and uncles, including, Karen Boyd Hartline, of Rossville, and Judy Boyd Gothard White, of Pisgah, Ala.; cousins, Lauryn Hinton, of Rossville, and Lyndsay Gothard, of Stevenson; great-aunt, Carolyn Prince Bryant, of Stevenson; many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. CDT today, Oct. 5, 2013.Interment will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.The family requests that memorial donations be made to Marion County Childrens Fund, P.O.
