Luke Crouch

CHICKAMAUGA "Luke" Luther Dexter Crouch, 90, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.He was born in Chattanooga, to the late Robert Taylor and Mary Ada Wilson Crouch. He had been a resident of the Chickamauga area for the past 66 years and enjoyed gardening, farming, fishing and antique cars. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was the former owner-operator of Crouch Wrecker Service and Lukes Quick Check. He had also worked at O.B. Andrews, Crystal Springs Mill and Independent Glass Company. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Walls, Joyce Wilson; and a brother, Howard Crouch.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Lucille Dill Crouch, of Chickamauga; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Danny Cross, of Soddy-Daisy, Dianne and David Brown Sr., of Chickamauga, Ga., Gail and Milton Chambers, of Mentone, Ala.; foster sons, Lenny Viverito, of Chickamauga, Joey Ellison, of Leesburg, Ala.; brother, James Crouch, of Fallingwater, Tenn.; grandchildren, Daniel and LaShonda Cross, of Chickamauga, Keith Cross, of Soddy-Daisy, Karla and Barry Arnold, Kami and Brian Gentry, David and Angela Brown, all of Chickamauga, Kim and John Johnson of Mentone, Ala., Krissy and Phil Harris, of Valley Head, Ala., Kevin and Kayla Worthey, of Mentone; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Saturday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 5, 2013, in the chapel with Rev. Johnny Ellison and David Brown Sr. officiating.
