Evelyn Chambers

Evelyn Marie Chambers, 92, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Adeline Wiegel She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Basilica and the Womens Guild. Evelyn was an avid bowler and bowled in league competitions for 38 years.She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Elmer "Mick" Chambers and a grandson, Michael Clark Chambers.Survivors include two sons, Tim (Nancy) Chambers and Michael (Merrell) Chambers; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul with Monsignor George Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to Sts.
