Gene Tapley

H. Eugene (Gene) Tapley, 73, of Chattanooga passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013.A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Gene was owner of CTM Consulting Engineers and Chem-Tex Machinery since 1976.He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Clown Unit at Alhambra Shrine and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech. Gene was also the author of his book "Boot Camp For The Christian Soldier", published by Xulon Press. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Sybil Tapley.Survivors are his wife, Barbara K. Tapley; children, Joel (Jennifer) Tapley, Atlanta, GA and Marla (Ken) Bridges, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Nicole (Daniel) Cholota, Kristen Tapley, Kenzie Tapley, Cadi and Cody Roach; great-grandson, Hayden Goodner; numerous friends and associates.Services will be held Monday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. J. Render Caines officiating. Private burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be, Larry Baxter,Ken Bridges,Daniel Cholota, Josh Martinez, Cody Roach, Dominic Thurston.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish Foundation or your favorite charity.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E.
