Edison Jay Blanchard, 98, of Collegedale, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.He was born in Sarasota, Fla. He served his country as a medic during WWll. He was a charter member of the McDonald Road Seventh-day Church.In addition to his wife Frieda, he is survived by his daughter Rozella Moore and her husband Archie, of Collegedale; granddaughters, Lela Duvall of Collegedale, Darla Byford and her husband, Mark, of Chattanooga; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Rhodes, Ryan Byford, Danielle Duvall and Elizabeth Duvall.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys; and daughter, Carolyn.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Archie Moore officiating.
