Billy Jack ShoemakeJASPER Alvin L. "Billy Jack" Shoemake Jr. passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.Billy Jack loved country music and was a great singer and guitar player. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked as a carpenter, dry waller and roofer.His mother, Barbara Jeanette Harden Shoemake Burke; sister, Phyllis Ann Shoemake; and grandson, Davey Hurst preceded him in death.He is survived by his father, Alvin "Bill" Shoemake Sr.; children, Wayne, Buffy and Dawn; grandchildren, Jacob and Marisa; and siblings, Randy Shoemake and Angel Peel.The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. CDT today, Oct. 17, 2013, with funeral services to follow.Interment will follow at McDonald Cemetery in, Ooltewah.To send online condolences visit www.tatefh.com.Arrangements by Tate Funeral Home, LLC, Jasper, Tenn., 423-942-9500.
