RINGGOLD Geneva Irene Flippo Carter, 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga North Georgia area, she was a former employee of Nations Hosiery Mill and was of the Presbyterian faith.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie B. Carter; parents, John and Bessie Mayes Flippo; sister, Alice Hendrix; and brother, Donald Flippo.She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Zala) Kimball and Rhonda (Jonathan) Butler, both of Ringgold; son, Gary Carter, of Maryville, Tenn.; three sisters, Ellen (Bob) Long and Dean Gray, both of Hixson, and Lola Mae Conner, of East Ridge; brother, William "Mutt" Flippo, of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Catoosa Memorial Gardens with Scott Kimball officiating.The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
