TUNNEL HILL James "Jim" Alvin Oxford, 68, departed this life Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.He was born in Chattanooga to the late James Lee and Margaret Oxford. Jim was owner/operator of Jims Chevy in Tunnel Hill and was of the Christian faith.He was also preceded in death by his sister, Janice Tooker.Survivors include his wife, Pearlene Oxford, of Tunnel Hill; children, Jimmy Oxford, Ginger Wiggins, both of East Ridge, Christy Wilson, of Oklahoma, Tonya Samples, of Fort Oglethorpe, Wendy Samples, of Ooltewah, Jeffery Samples, of Tunnel Hill; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in the Chapel with Denny Manning officiating.Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.Family will receive friends from 2 until 9 p.m. today, all day Thursday, and prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
