Ouida Holland

ROME Ouida Freeman Holland, 91, and formerly of Chattanooga passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at her residence.A native of Macon, Ga., Mrs. Holland was born Dec. 8, 1921 daughter of the late John Samuel Freeman and Sarah Myrtle Brown Freeman. She had been a resident of Chattanooga since 1947 before moving to Rome in 2002. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grams to her family and enjoyed camping and cooking. She and her husband Oswald J. Holland, who preceded her in death Dec. 23, 2005 were members of the South Seminole Baptist Church in East Ridge.Survivors include her daughter Jere Swafford (John), of Rome; two grandchildren and spouses Joel Eric Swafford (Hailie) and Jeffrey Allen Swafford (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, Faith, and Troy Swafford, Deena Hayes and Chelsie and Jenny Hudgins; great-great-grandchild Richard Lee McLemore; and a loyal friend Mary Simmons also survive.Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev.
