James Rayburn "Jimmy" Vandergriff, Sr., 62, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Signal Mountain and of the Baptist faith. Jimmy retired from ABB Combustion after 26 years of service where he was known as "Vandy". He enjoyed to fish, hunt and watching the Tennessee Volunteers. Jimmy loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Dot Vandergriff. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Pat Vandergriff; sons, James (Victoria) Vandergriff, of Soddy-Daisy and Jason (Jessica) Vandergriff, of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Kyra, November, Cohen and Wyatt Vandergriff; brother, Fred Hubert "Butch" Vandergriff, of Soddy-Daisy along with several nieces and nephews.Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Powell Grisham officiating.
