SPRINGCITY Samuel Clayton Burdette, 77, died Saturday Aug. 31, 2013. He was a life long resident of Hamilton County, Tenn. Born and lived in Evensville, Tenn., and of the Methodist faith. He was a life long Vols fan and played at Rhea Central and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.Preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Mamie (Hall) Burdette; sister, Lela Mitchell; brother, Carl Edward Burdette, and step-brother, Kenneth Jordan; step-mother, Della Burdette and daughter, Karen Frances Burdette.Survivors include, wife Patsy Martin Burdette, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughter, Missy (George) Poston, of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Keith (Michelle) Burdette, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Maxine Burdette, of Sparta, Tenn., and Audrey Bodden, of Montgomery, Ala.; step-brother, Charles Jordan, of McDonald, Tenn.; and step-sister, Clovella Merriot, of Battle Creek, MI.; two grandchildren, Emily Poston and Koby Burdette; several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Alzheimers Association.Services are 1 p.m. today, graveside with the Rev.
