Joseph Frith

Joseph Lewis Firth, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, in a local hospital.He was a Howard High School graduate. He was a member of New York Citys finest as a Peace officer until his retirement.He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Andrew Frith; sister, Priscilla Franklyn; and brother, Michael Frith.Survivors: siblings, Virginia Snyder of Alabama, Mamie Boggus Frith, Mary Marshall, Jacqueline Johnson, all of Chattanooga, and Samuel (Diane) Frith, of California; uncle, Jessie Deramus, of Arizona; aunts, Ardell Butler, of Detroit, Mich., and Ida Pearl Myree of Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.The body will lie-in-state today at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Robert Crawford giving the discourse.
