Charles Connell

BRAYTON Charles Kenneth "Unca Tony" Connell, 95, formerly of Sebring and West Palm Beach, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at the home of Jack and Brenda Conoly his nephew.Charles was born in Macon, Ga., Nov. 2, 1917 to the late Norton Henry and Lottie Duncan Connell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lee Connell; brother, Jack Eldred Connell; sister, Marjorie Duncan Conoly and a nephew, Jeff Bryan.He received his Masters degree in Civil Engineering having a 22 years career with retirement from the U.S. Air Force where he received the rank of Master Sergeant (P), having served in the Eighth Air Force Fighter Wing, Charles received the Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal with one silver LP. He was a Pilot in the U.S. Air Corps. In addition to his military retirement, Charles has been a College Professor, Flight Instructor, Baseball Coach, Building Inspector and several other endeavors too numerous to mention. Charles was a member of First Assembly of God in Sebring, Fla.Survivors include three sisters, Annette Bryan, Harriette Huff and Sarah Hamilton; ten nieces and nephews; ten great and eleven great, great nieces and nephews.Thank you to our guardian angels, Thelma Blaylock, Pauline Ansley, Amanda Gilbert, Angie Holland, Dr. Donald Zeigler, Sonia Bible, Brenda Leslie and Kelley Painter for their loving care and friendship.Private services will be held by the family at Sassers Landing Cemetery in Jennings, Florida on Nov. 2, 2013.Visit www.hamiltonfuneraloptions.com to share words of condolences to the family.Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4506 Hixson Pike. 423-531-3975.
