Billy Kelley

Sr.CHICKAMAUGA Billy S. Kelley Sr., 67, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at a local hospital.He was a lifelong resident of Walker County where he had worked for E.T. Barwick in Kensington, was a manager and landscaper for Wayne Snow Nursery in Rock Spring, and retired in the 1990s from Roper Corporation with 13 years of service. He was a member of the Roper Bass Club/South Georgia Bass Club and was of the Baptist faith. His passions in life were his family, grandchildren and fishing.He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Kelley; mother, Pauline Rhinehart; and father, Stewart Kelley.Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janet Kelley; children, Billy (Amy) Kelley Jr., of Chickamauga and Donna (Michael) Sherrill, of Chickamauga; sisters, Betty Day and Patricia Branam, both of Rossville; brother, John Kelley, of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Matthew Sherrill, Heather Kelley, MyKayla Kelley, Cameron Kelley, and Benjamin Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Neal and the Rev. Alfred Holland officiating.Interment will follow in Lafayette Memory Gardens.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
