Alvin Robinson

Sr.Alvin Roy Robinson Sr., 85, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.He was employed as an electrical engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority. Alvin received his B.S. degree in industrial education in 1957 from Hampton University and a B.S. degree in electrical engineering in 1960 from Howard University. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ada W. Robinson; children, Cora R. (Edward) Smith, Roy (Faye) Robinson, Cecile (Nikongo) Robinson, Audrey (Terry) Robinson and Alvin (Anastasia) Robinson Jr.; grandchildren, Aaron, Whitney, Nathan, Ivana, Nikongo, Nkenge, Alexander and Ava.Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Washington Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Black officiating.Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
