Jr.WHITWELL George Britton Day Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.He was preceded in death by his parents, Britton and Eva Day; sisters, Betty, Peggy; brother, James.Mr. Day was a member of the First United Methodist Church and he retired from Chattanooga Printing & Engraving. After his retirement he worked at Lowes in Kimball, Tenn. He was also a United States Marine Veteran.Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Faye Hixson Day; son, Britt (Cheryl) Day, of Springhill, La.; daughter, Melanie Steslow, of Baton Rouge, La.; stepson, Barry (Jan) Shirley; stepdaughter, Regina (Randy) Ables, both of Whitwell; sisters, Pearlie McClendon, of Scottsboro, Ala., Penny Hornick of California, Margaret (Harold) Jones, of Forest, Va.; brothers, Daniel (JoAnn) Day, of Elbert, W.Va., Joe (Glenna) Day, of Princeton, W.Va., Mack (Junie) Day, of Crofton, Md.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.Family will receive friends 1-9 p.m. CDT today, Sept. 14, 2013.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. CDT Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Whitwell with Rev. Jeremy McMillan and Rev.
