Ervin L. "Sugar Bear" Scott, 57, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.He was of the Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice Scott and Eddie Scott. He was employed at Pilgrim Pride. He was a 1973 graduate of Howard High School.Survivors include son, Tedarrell; two daughters, Latosha and Torri; grandchildren, Ashley, Teddarrell Jr., Jakhia, Tedarren, Amaya and Anthony; sister, Barbara (Tony) Davis; brothers, Arthur Hatten and Jerry (Brenda) Harden, all of Chattanooga; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, Charles Houston, Vaughn Evans and ex-wife, Cassandra.The family would like to express sincere thanks to Hearth Hospice and co-workers of Pilgrim Pride.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, with Rev. Robert Chaney will be officiating.Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
