CHICKAMAUGA James Albert Clem, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at home.He was born in Elkmont, Ala., to the late, Charlie and A.Z. Clem, but had lived in the Chickamauga area since 1966 and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for more than 40 years and retired from the city of Chattanooga in 2000 after more than 10 years of service in the engineering department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.He was also preceded in death by two infant siblings; two nephews; one niece; one great-niece; one great-nephew; a brother-in-law; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester Mason and Bertha Mason Stone. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 53 years, Mary Ann Clem, of Chickamauga; son and daughter-in-law, James Anthony (Diane) Clem, of Harrison; daughter, Debora Ann Clem, of Decatur, Ga.; brother, Charles (Martha Ann) Clem, of Elkmont, Ala.; sister, Alice (Boyce) Holderfield, of Florence, Ala.; sister-in-law, Janice (Homer) Clem, of Athens, Ala.; brother-in-law, Morris (Joyce) Mason, of Buffalo, Texas; two granddaughters, Ashley and Katie Clem; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. Allen Farris, Rev. Joe Hardin and Dr. R.C.
