Frank Lindsay

JASPER Frank Lindsay, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at his home.The son of the late Joseph Clyde and Lily Hayes Lindsay, he was a member of Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended Tennessee Tech, where he played football for two years. A retired police officer, he was a 15 year member of the Jasper Police Department, worked for the Tennessee Highway Patrol for 30 years and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Throughout his long and honorable career, Frank was - first and foremost - a good man.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane Templeton Lindsay; son, William (Viktoria) Lindsay, of Chattanooga; grandsons, First Lieutenant Vladislav (Anastasia) Saveljevs, of Fort Benning, Ga., Frank Lindsay, of Knoxville, and Nathan Lindsay, of Nashville; great-grandson, Carson Lindsay, Knoxville; sister, Jean Pamplin, of Winchester, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-6 p.m. CDT today, Sept. 21, at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.Funeral services, with Rev. James H. Patterson officiating, will be held at 2 p.m. CDTon Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church where the body will lie in state for one hour prior to service time.Interment will follow in Burns Cemetery.Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.rogersfuneralhome.com.
