Mae Gilbert

Mae Ola Gilbert, 77, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013. She was a loving mother and homemaker, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Gilbert, Jr.; son, Ronald Gilbert; parents, Rosie Ford Grimmitt and Thomas Leslie; brother, Thomas Leslie, Jr.She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Joyce (Elder Clyde) Robinson; sons, Mark (Lennel), Reginald, Roderick (Gretta), Albert III., and Kevin (Tawaina) Thomas; grandchildren, Clomeisha, Shontell, Walter, Tira, Shantell, LaDanna, LaShawandra, Albert, IV., LaPorscha, Bridney and Desmond; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jaiden, Major, Aiden, Riley and Teniya; sisters-in-law, Diana Williams and Vallie Mae Leslie, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday, Sept. 24, at New Hope Baptist Church, Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery. The body will lie in state after Noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
