Meliton Bernabe

, Sr.Rev. Meliton Galindez Bernabe, 82, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. He was a retired Pastor and District Superintendent for the Church of the Nazarene, Philippine District, for over 35 years. Rev. Bernabe taught at the Philippine Nazarene College and served as Dean of the college. He was a church planter for the Church of the Nazarene in Michigan and Chicago before moving to Chattanooga. Rev. Bernabe served as the Chaplain for the Philippine American Association of Greater Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by a son, Meliton E. Bernabe, Jr.Survivors include his wife, Marcela Bernabe; children, Manolito and Vivian Bernabe, Roger and Mary Grace Berro, Joel and Melynor Fraker, Melvin and Tanya Bernabe; grandchildren, Daniel Ron Berro, Johannah Grace Berro, Louis Alexander Mavredes, Lee Samuel Bernabe, Gabriel Allen Bernabe and Isaac Jorge Bernabe.Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the funeral home chapel.
