Jimmy Lee Talley, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Seminole, Fla. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Harrison Masonic Lodge 114. He was a 33rd-degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Alhambra Shrine Temple. Jimmy was retired from Combustion Engineering Co. after 30 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was born to the late Jess and Bessie McCallie Talley and was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Margaret Talley. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Peavy and husband, Randall, of Seminole, Fla., Donna Baxter and husband, Bryan, of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Bruce Talley, of Chattanooga; and one sister, Pat Wells, of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Allen Sharpe, Louie Sharpe, Jason Baxter and Summer Peavy; four great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Ashlyn, and Colby Sharpe and Peyton Sharpe; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dallas Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic graveside services. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m today at the funeral home.
