Louin Harris

Cyrus Louin Harris, 90, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, March 30, 2014. He was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Georgetown, Tenn., a son of Hugh A. and Annie Davis Harris. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Harris, Hubert Harris, Victor Harris and E. L Harris; sister, Virginia Gamble. Mr. Harris was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the USS Minneapolis. He was a member of East Chattanooga Church of God and was retired from DuPont after 32 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Kathleen Harris; son, the Rev. Cy (Cindy) Harris; grandchildren, Mitchell Harris, Sarah Harris and Kayla Harris; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at East Chattanooga Church of God with the Rev. Fred Smith and the Rev. Kenneth Harvell officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery 11:30 a.m. Thursday with Darle Ray Parker, Larry Moore, Bill Stokes, Daniel Wysong, Paul Wysong and Philip Wysong serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the East Chattanooga Church of God from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.
