Mary Broome

Mary Frances Broome, 93, of East Ridge, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014. She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and had been employed as assistant manager with G.C. Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.C. "Doc" Broome; daughter, Susan Broome Daugherty; parents Byron and Kathlene Parker; two brothers, Pete Parker and Edward Parker. Survivors include her son, Buddy (Rhonda) Broome, of East Ridge; son-in-law, Steve Daugherty, of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, Shannon Boyd, Alicia Broome, Robby Broome, Jeremy Broome, Scott Daugherty, Steve Daugherty and Tim Daugherty; sister, Ann (David) Lancaster, of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, Bill (Charlotte) Parker, of Clearwater, Fla; sister, Katie Altman, of Florence, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Road with the Rev. Bennie Mills officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
