Marian Edwards

Marian Beryl Edwards, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at her home. Marian was born in Clinton, S.C., and was retired from Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse. Marian also served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Honor Roll. Marian was a faithful member of White Oak Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies on Missions and the Oasis Choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. L. Edwards Jr.; and her brothers, Fred, Charles and Warren. Survivors include her daughter, Joan (Charles) Adams, of Hobbs, N.M.; sons, Gregory L. (Lisa) Edwards, of Chattanooga, Douglas (Susan) Edwards, of Aiken, S.C., and Brent (Toy) Edwards, of Cleveland; brothers, John P. (Pat) Whitman, of Monticello, Ga., and James H. Whitman, of Waynesville, N.C. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, with Dr. Tony Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
