Estell Peoples

Helen Estell Hookey Peoples, 83, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Mrs. Peoples was a member of Kimball Baptist Church and retired employee of South Pittsburg Knitting Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie C. Peoples; son, Bobby R. Peoples; parents, Herbert and Virgie Ballew Hookey; and brother, Reuben Jacob "R. "J." Hookey. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Diane Peoples; grandchildren, Cindy Peoples, Stacy and Joey Green, David and Alisha Peoples, and Kendra and "Bro" Jerry Swafford; great-grandchildren, Christopher "Matty" Meeks, Cassie Meeks, Joseph Green, Jake Peoples, Morgan Green, Kylee Whited, and Paisley Swafford; sisters, Martha Hunnicutt and Jane Alder. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday, April 5, 2014, with Brother Chris Kilgore and Brother Dolye Chamblee officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. today, Aril 4, 2014, and on from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of the service.
