Phyllis Rolland

Phyllis Rolland, 73, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014, at a local hospital. Phyllis was a graduate of Central High School in Louisville, Ky. She retired from Chattanooga First Federal Credit Union and J. C. Penney Inc. She was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Mae Hughes; father, James Locklin; stepfather, Dock C. Hughes; and brother, Dennis Hughes. Survivors include her daughters, Valeria Rolland Dillard, Trina McDonald; sisters, Eder Hughes Crenshaw (Michael) and Yvette Hughes, Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren, Ashlee Patterson, Courtney James Dillard, Markita Dillard, Jamillah Dillard, Brandon McDonald; one sweet great-granddaughter, Journie Amerie; a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Highland Memorial Gardens with Rev. Samuel R. Jackson officiating. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
