Martha Elizabeth Griffin 91, died Sunday April 6, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member of the South Rossville Baptist Church for the past 50 years. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Griffin; former GBI agent and former Rossville Police Chief, parents, Ralph and Grace Williams; sister, Kathleen Campbell; brothers, Marshall Williams and Eddie Williams. Survivors are son, Mike (Theda) Griffin, of Ringgold; daughter, Linda (Darrelle) Turner, of Villa Rica, Ga.; grandchildren, Michael Griffin, of Rock Spring, Ga., David Turner, of Commerce, Ga., Dan Turner, of Atlanta, and Kelly McLoughin, of Chattanooga; and six great-granddaughters; sister-in-law, Clois Williams; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Parkside Nursing Home, Life Choice Hospice and to special friends Robert and Lisa Turnipseed. Graveside services will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Daniels and Rev. Eddie Rushing officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to South Rossville Baptist Church, 101 East Peachtree St., Rossville, GA 30741. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
