Hixson Eldridge

Hixson B. Eldridge, 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at this home. A native of Sale Creek, he was a World War II pilot receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal for completing 35 successful missions. He retired with the rank of Lt. Col. After 20 years of active and Reserve service. After living in Florida for 50 years, he moved to Clyde to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bettye Jean; four children; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
